From the Porch - Fishswept

May 3

Marlins 3, Giants 2

MIA (11-14) 110 000 010  3 12 0
 SF (12-13) 000 001 010  2  9 2

WP: A. Sanchez 2-0
LP: Vogelsong 0-2

In the division: Giants 4th out of 5, right now 5 games behind Dodgers, who are off today.

Recap: When Angel Pagan hit a game-winning homer at Cincinnati to salvage 1 game out of 3 against the Reds on Monday, many said this might be the hit that ignites the SF offense, finally. Well, no.  Nobody had a sweep by the Marlins at AT&T penciled in, not even the Marlins Castro-lovin' manager with the IQ of 37. Not many teams can get swept in the three-game series after giving up only 8 runs, but it was quite easy for the Giants.

We (we great writers always use the editorial "we") wrote a Pulitzer-worthy recap of Wednesday night's heartbreaking 3-2 loss to the Miami -- trailing 2-0 in bottom of the 9th, scrap like crazy to tie it and then lose on a monster homer by Giancarlo Stanton in the
10th), but Punshouse apparently censored it and it was never posted.  Gigantic corporate bastards, whatcha gonna do? Occupy Punshouse!!!!!!!!! No? Nobody? Oh, just like the real Occupys. If Punshouse doesn't post this one, you'll never hear from me again; I'm a short experiment, like Brandon Crawford!

Today's game was writ in stone immediately on the very first pitch when Someone von Marlin (maybe Jose Reyes) hit a routine grounder to SS Brandon Crawford and he whiffed it for an immediate error, first of his two today. Crawford was supposed to be a no-hit guy with a Gold
Glove, and he still can't hit and cannot field. So I expect him to be in Fresno in a week and doubt we'll ever see him again in San Francisco. He's Brian Bocock. Opening Day starter, never seen again after about 18 games. Goodbye and good luck.

Next Debacle: Milwaukee Brewers at San Francisco Giants, 7 p.m. Friday, May 4. Greinke (3-1, 3.94) vs. Lincecum (2-2, 5.74). TV: CSN-BA.
